Jikoboei Ryu

Speed | Ferocity | Power

Jikoboei Ryu literally means 'self-defence school' and is a style of Karate founded and developed by Jason Lester.

Jikoboei Ryu is a dynamic form of Okinawan Karate which inherits the characteristics of both Na-Ha and Shuri-Te style's of Okinawan Karate

Jikoboei Ryu decends from Shukokai and Shotokan Karate and is a fast, fluid style which consists of hard hitting techniques and explosive power. Jikoboei Ryu is a system of combat which seeks perfection and takes a lifetime of study, it demands dedication, continuous study, hard training and concentration.

The training in Jikoboei Ryu is divided into four sections, these are Kihon, (basics), Kata, (formal exercise), Bunkai Kumite and impact training. Unlike many other schools and associations were their focus is on sparring, Jikoboei Ryu's main emphasis is the study of Kata and Bunkai, (application). Jikoboei Ryu has just one Kata in its system, something completely unheard of in today's modern world of Karate.
